Shelton Sequential English Education Program Tutor Training

We are pleased to host Joyce Pickering, Executive Director Emeritus of The Shelton School in Dallas, for a workshop for individuals interested in tutoring students with diagnosed learning differences related to language. The SEE program will be implemented at Desert Academy during Special Sessions this school year, and will be offered as a summer program next summer. We need more tutors! This is a free training designed to prepare parents, teachers, or interested community members to tutor in this program. Please contact Guillermo Tilley, Desert Academy learning specialist, at gtilley@desertacademy.org, if you would like to participate in the training.

Plan to join us on Thursday, October 6 for an evening with Joyce Pickering, Executive Director Emeritus of the Shelton School in Dallas. Shelton is the largest school for students with learning differences in the world. This will be an informative and enlightening opportunity to understand how best to support your student with learning differences.

New Campus Gathering
Please join us for a community gathering at 2:00pm Sunday, October 2, 2011 at our soon-to-be new campus!
The property is 26 acres, located at 7300 Old Santa Fe Trail which is the corner of Old Santa Fe Trail and El Gancho Way. Our Parent Association is sponsoring this event and will provide refreshments. Guests will be able to see our plans for the property and hear from students, parents, and others about our community’s excitement about our future. Our architect and contractor will be there to answer questions about construction while our Board of Trustees and administration will be on hand to talk about what this means for the future of education in the Santa Fe area. We welcome the community to join us for this joyous event!
