Tuition and Fees

BASIC FEES

Application Fee: $50 Due with application.
Tuition: $15,385 $1,000 deposit due with contract.
New Student Fee: $625 One-time charge goes toward development of the school facility.
Annual Parent Association Fee: $60 Due with contract. One per family.
Annual Book Fee: $300 Per student. Included in payment options.
Annual Technology Fee: $300 Per student. Included in payment options.

OPTIONAL FEES

Art Class Materials: $75 Per semester
Photography Class Materials: $100 Per semester
After-school Sports: $60 Per sport
Parking Fee: $75 Per semester
Computer Animation Fee: $100 Per semester
Assistance Dogs Fee: $50 Per semester
Film Production Class Fee: $100 Per semester
There may be additional charges for special programs, field trips, sports trips, etc.

PAYMENT OF TUITION

In order to reserve space for the student, the $1,685 enrollment deposit is to be paid and returned with the completed Enrollment Contract. Families are given three payment options for the balance of tuition after Financial Aid and/or Merit Scholarship awards are applied. An option must be chosen and indicated on the Enrollment Contract.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

  • Prepayment: $15,554 Includes 3% discount on tuition balance due if paid in full by May 15, 2010.
  • Two Payments: $7,492.50 ea. One half of the balance of tuition is due on July 1, 2010, and the other half is due on November 17, 2010.
  • 10 Monthly Payments: $1,495.50 ea.

The balance of tuition and basic fees is divided into equal monthly payments and paid by the first of each month (usually 10 months: due July 1 through April 1). Families must sign up for FACTS Tuition Management Services to qualify for monthly payments.

AUTOMATIC TUITION PAYMENTS

Desert Academy has contracted with the FACTS Management Company to help manage our tuition collection program. The FACTS plan is based on automatic electronic payments, as authorized by parents, from their checking or savings accounts. Under this plan the entire amount of tuition including fees is paid over an 10 month period beginning July 5 or 20, 2009, as authorized by parents from their checking or savings account.

FACTS Management Company uses the ECashier payment tool to process credit card and automated electronic payments. Click on the link below to setup your automatic tuition payment arrangements. TUITION INCENTIVES

  • 5% discount for students who are enrolled through the Early Admission process. See “Admissions Process” for more information or call Polly White, Director of Admissions at (505) 992-8284.
  • 3% discount for prepayment of tuition by May 15, 2010.
  • 5% sibling discount will be applied to tuition for additional students attending Desert Academy.

Discounts are applied to the balance of tuition after Financial Aid and/or Merit Scholarship awards are applied.

TUITION AND FEES FOR PARTIAL YEAR (late enrollment)

  • Students enrolling during the first academic quarter are expected to pay full tuition.
  • Students enrolling during the second academic quarter will receive a 25% reduction in tuition.
  • Students enrolling during the third or fourth academic quarter will receive a 50% reduction in tuition.
  • We generally do not accept students for the fourth quarter. Term dates are published in the Student Handbook.
  • All other additional fees apply as stated.
