The NJHS involves students in grades seven through nine whereas the NHS involves students grades nine through twelve. Desert Academy’s NHS and NJHS run the peer tutoring program through assistance to students and teachers during study hall special session on Tuesdays and in the afterschool sessions set up for homework help & organizational skill building as needed.
Self-nomination occurs every year beginning in December with candidate forms due to the club adviser (Ms. Comstock) at the end of January (date to be set). Turned in candidate form does not mean acceptance, forms are reviewed with input from the registrar for GPA requirements (3.4) and with the faculty council.
